Affiliate disclosure
Plain terms: some links on this site are affiliate links. Cruise links point to GetYourGuide and Viator, and the free walking tour on our free-activity guide links to GuruWalk, which are the places those tours are sold. If you book through one of them we earn a small commission and you pay exactly the same price. No cruise operator pays to appear here. City Cruises California, Flagship Cruises & Events and every other operator on these pages will take your reservation whether you arrive through our links or their own.
Which platforms sit behind the links
Every button that opens a cruise page, and any in-text link leading to one, points to a live booking listing carrying our partner tag. Of the twelve cruises compared here, ten are sold on GetYourGuide and two on Viator: the Flagship Harbor Dinner Cruise and the Mission Bay Sunset Cruise are the two Viator listings. Each listing names the company that actually runs the boat, from City Cruises California to Flagship Cruises & Events, Triton Charters, Cruise San Diego and the two sailing outfits. Separately, the free walking tour recommended on our free-activity guide is booked through GuruWalk, which runs on the same arrangement.
When a booking follows one of those clicks, the platform shares part of the commission it already charges the operator. Nothing is added to what you pay: the cut comes out of the platform's side, so a ticket on the Flagship Harbor Dinner Cruise costs exactly what it would if you had found the listing yourself.
That is the entire arrangement. GetYourGuide, Viator and GuruWalk are the only affiliate partners on this site today. There is no display advertising, no sponsored posts and no paid placements. Should a fourth partner ever be added, for hotels or anything else, this page and the footer disclosure will name it before the first link goes live, never quietly after the fact.
The ways onto the water that earn us nothing
Worth saying plainly, because for some visitors it is the better answer. You can walk down to the Embarcadero piers on North Harbor Drive, buy a ticket at an operator's own counter for the next harbor cruise, and nothing about that pays this site anything. The guides cover which piers each operator leaves from, Broadway Pier at 990 North Harbor Drive, the Grape Street Pier landing at 1800 and Pier 2 at 970 among them.
Even within the cruises we do link, we lead with what a listing actually shows rather than pushing anyone toward the top of the range. Published from-prices across the twelve run from $37 (checked September 2026) for the Flagship Harbor Cruise to $600 for the New Year's Eve Champagne Cruise, with the City Cruises buffet dinner at $102.33 and the gourmet dinner at $153.50. A card never carries a number we could not stand behind.
What no commission reaches
- Inclusion. A cruise earns a place by being real, bookable and honestly described, nothing else. Twelve listings made the cut: three harbor dinner cruises, four brunch and daytime harbor cruises, three sunset cruises and two holiday sailings, run by City Cruises California, Flagship Cruises & Events, Triton Charters, Cruise San Diego, two sailing outfits and Fattori Travel Experiences.
- Ordering. No cruise operator has bought a position, and none has been offered the chance. Neither GetYourGuide nor Viator has any say in which listings appear or how they are ranked. When a listing heads its category, the reason is the listing itself: its rating, its review count and what it actually includes, all printed on the card for you to judge.
- What we say about them. The Christmas Eve Brunch or Dinner Cruise carrying two reviews sits in the same lineup as the Flagship Harbor Dinner Cruise carrying 1,322, and both numbers appear exactly as published. A thin sample is never dressed up as a consensus.
- What we leave out. A cruise only appears if its listing shows a fixed, checkable from-price and bookable dates. Anything vague, sold only through an operator's phone line, or seasonal without a live listing stays off the site, even though it would have paid commission exactly like the twelve we could confirm.
- Things we earn nothing from. Watching the Big Bay Boom fireworks from shore, standing on a public Embarcadero pier for the December Parade of Lights, taking the ferry to Coronado on your own. These still get their say wherever they beat a paid ticket.
Ratings, counts and from-prices
Each rating and review count shown here matches the figure published on the live booking listing, whether that listing runs on GetYourGuide or Viator. Figures are never blended across the two platforms, and a thin sample stays thin: the two reviews on the Christmas Eve cruise are printed as two, while the 1,451 on the Flagship Harbor Cruise stand as 1,451. The New Year's Eve Champagne Cruise, which publishes no reviews yet, is shown with none.
Prices work the same way and come with a bigger caveat. What you see on a card is a current from-price, the cheapest option on that listing when it was read, and all twelve cruises publish one, running from $37 to $600 (checked September 2026). What you actually pay moves with the date, your currency, your group size, the option you pick and any add-ons, so the live booking page is always the authority. A dinner cruise from City Cruises may offer gourmet and buffet formats at different price points, and the holiday sailings sit at the top of the range by nature of what they include. The booking page breaks down exactly what a price covers, meal, boarding drink and entertainment where applicable, before you commit.
Booking without us, if you prefer
You can skip our links entirely. Type a cruise name into GetYourGuide or Viator yourself, or book through the operator's own website, since every listing here names the company that runs it, from Flagship to City Cruises California. All twelve cruises can be found and reserved without us in the chain, and the same goes for the GuruWalk walking tour. The comparisons, the price notes, the FAQ and the guides read exactly the same whether or not a booking link is ever clicked, and the point of the whole site is an evening on San Diego Bay, not the referral.
Questions about any of this: write to us. How the twelve cruises were vetted in the first place is laid out on the about page.
